Hi everyone,

Happy Canada Day!

I know, I’m a day late, but the holiday threw me off my timeline, so better late than never!

New in the Store
It’s been a slower week for stock but…Quickutz arrived!! Yippee, WITH PLATFORMS!! whoohoo, I know the photo here isn’t the greatest, but I hope it shows that I have a few Squeeze’s as well! $30 for the tool and it includes an alphabet! Comes in Black or Pink, previous orders are all on hold, these are extra ;)
We’ve also moved a few things around, so I’ve already had comments about my “new stuff” tee hee, I think I may just have too much for you all to see in one shot!
Saturday’s Neat ‘Nique
Last saturday’s was so awesome that i sold out of all the stuff i need for what was planned this week! I’ve had to postpone the “Winking Eye” by Art Lenz, but have put in another order, and will be rescheduled as soon as the stock arrives. So this Saturday is Glitter, using stencils, and for those of you who are rooting for me to actually finish the sample BEFORE Saturday actually arrives, here’s proof that we’re working on it :) What a mess! I hope you all know that you will leave here Saturday with a little “sparkle in your step”!
Next Week’s Workshop
The Jacob’s ladder is a fun kid’s toy that makes a really cool scrapbook! You will have your choice of a Girl’s or Boy’s theme, and we will be using Glimmer Mist and the Quickutz Squeeze tool. As usual, scheduled times are Sunday at 1pm, or Wednesday at 10:30am or 6:30pm, a few spots are left so let us know if you are interested at info@cherishthethought.ca
Kid’s Summer Workshops
I know, I’m a bit late, and you’ve been asking, but I got the girl’s to come in this week and work on their projects so we finally have dates! The week of July 14-18 (excluding Wednesday) we have kid’s classes schelduled. The project topics include: Lindsey’s Layout, Caelin’s cards, an altered cigar box, an acrylic mini album, a jewellry box, charm bracelet, altered film cannister, and door knob hanger. Each class is about 2 hours and costs $10 each with one project in the morning and one in the afternoon. The kids are welcome to stay and have their lunch here, a microwave and oven are available for use. We have limited space so please contact us to book your kids in (Tammy, consider Amy and Emily in, unless these dates don’t work for you, wink)

SURVIVOR PORT MOODY – WEEK 5
This is it, the last week in Survivor Port Moody 3 (I think?) Above are the last 2 cards, come in this week and place your vote for your favorite and crown a new Sole Survivor. We’re collecting cards now for Survivor 6, phew!

I think that’s all I can squeeze in this time, so,
Spread the Sparkle,
Adhere with Abandon,
and wear comfortable shoes on a hard tile floor (tee hee)

Cherished Chat is now blogged

okay, okay, I never said I was good at keeping up with technological stuff…so, I’ve garnered some help, thank God for friends :)

With the help of my new Design team, Sonja, Gwen and Dianne (hey, Dianne, you WANT to be on my design team, right? I forgot to ask you yesterday) we will strive to not only keep this blog thingy up to date but also to make it A LOT more interesting, not that I don’t LOVE telling you all my stories, but we’re here to scrap and share, so let’s do it!

I will be posting my newsletter here every Tuesday night (instead of Thursdays), and it will list new products and happenings at the store, and every Friday you will be treated by something special from my DT’s – look at that, I’m already using computer lingo! Look at me move into the technological age! We will have Challenges, Sketches, Specials etc, and when i figure out how to have our photo’s on the gallery instead of the ones that have happened to pop up in there…they are pretty good though… then we will post your stuff as well as ours! There is so much talent in this store, between what my staff come up with, and what customers bring in, that I can’t wait to show you all what can REALLY be done with the neat stuff here at Cherish!

So…

New in the Store this Week
It’s only Tuesday, so nothing really, but Quickutz is still due on Thursday, fingers crossed…

Saturday’s Neat ‘Nique
We will be doing a 3-D card using Art Lenz, you’ve been asking me to do a demo on this for months, so i finally feel confident enough to do it. Do I have a sample yet? Of course not, it’s only Tuesday you know!

July Class Calendar
With the end of school etc, I’m afraid our website fell a bit by the wayside, but my Web-Goddess was in today taking a ton of photo’s to get the classes posted asap. She is also revamping a few things including making it so that when you click on the class photo’s, they will enlarge, like the ones in the gallery now do.

Not much more to say for now, but stay posted for Friday…

Spread the sparkle
Adhere with abandon
and keep learning new things, it keeps you young :)

Heartfelt Thank you

By , 29 April, 2008, 5 Comments

Two posts in one morning, you may think I’m crazy, but I wanted this message to stand out, as it is very important to me that you see it.

When Andrew and I decided to open Cherish, we were so grateful to our friends and family who were so supportive of our efforts and helped at every turn. We are still, but this message is for someone else.

This Heartfelt Thank You is for all the “strangers” who have embraced us and helped to spread the word that we are here. I keep getting asked whether there has been anything that we found hard or surprising in opening the store, and my response is always the same. I am completely overwhelmed with how incredibly wonderful all our customers are. I knew that it would be word of mouth that would ultimately let people know that we were here, and although I am often told I have a big mouth (ha ha) I did assume it would be mine spreading the word, but within days, you came in and asked if you could take a few cards to a crop you were attending, a card class you were going to, a club meeting, and all of a sudden it wasn’t just me and Andrew, Gwen and Dianne, it was all of you. I want to list your names here, but should I leave off even one, I would be devastated because I truly appreciate all that you have done for me and my family, so I have to say that you know who you are, as I may have already thanked you at the store, or I will when I see you next. I said in my first blog that it takes a village to raise this Cherished baby of mine, but I’m ever so glad that my village has grown so large with all my new found friends.

From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Jessie, Andrew and Ella (who finally learned how to blow kisses, and is sending you one right now!)

Catching Up…

By , 29 April, 2008, No Comment

Phew! How does 3 weeks go by so fast? I’m afraid my blog has fallen by the wayside, so this morning, while Ella’s still asleep,I’m catching up!First, Happy Belated Birthday to Paige, we had an awesome time with all of your friends, and your giant Paperclips turned out phenomenal!

Second, how fun was the Pro D day last week? (whoops 2 weeks ago, I’m REALLY behind) I was so impressed with Lindsey (12) and Caelin (10 in 6 days) teaching the classes, I’ve asked them to do some more so my fingers are crossed…

And third, We had an Un-birthday in the store on Saturday the 19th with Taylor and all her friends, where I taught a simpler version of Lindsey’s Layout (She was a tough act to follow!) and we had a blast, glittered butterflies everywhere!
A very special thank you to Gloria (Taylor’s mum), who has been very supportive of our parties, we’re re-vamping some of the website as per your suggestions, and I’ll get my birthday flyer out asap :) I promise! So now that we’re all caught up…CONGRATULATIONS to Faith, our first Survivor Port Moody winner, your gift certificate is waiting at the store for you, and for everyone else, the next 6 cards are on display and waiting for your vote, who will be the next Sole Survivor…
Paste with passion,
Jessie

Congratulations Gwen!

Hi Everyone,

I’m sorry for the delay, I could say that I was trying to add to the suspense, but truly it was just that time and the internet weren’t on my side :(

So, my big announcement is… (this is where you would hear the drumroll) Gwen’s Paper Bag project has been published on the gallery of our favorite paper vendor Piggy Tales!! If you log onto to http://www.piggytales.com/ and click on the “Gallery”, you will see a list on the left hand side of all their paper lines. Click on Little Miss Muffet, and scroll down to the bottom and there she is, our wonderfully talented Gwen. I wanted to post the photo here as well, but with the internet down at home this morning, and the photo is on that computer and not this one…Well, you can see how technology and I have not been getting along lately!

However, Congratulations to Gwen, and when you see her in the store, let her know how great we think she is :)

as I’m still looking for a sign off, I’ll borrow my favorite again,

Spread the Sparkle,

Jessie
