Core-Dinations Shattered!

By , 2 May, 2013, 1 Comment

I just got my hands on some New Core-Dinations “Shattered” cardstock by Tim Holtz…and I LOVE it!

It’s a Kraft core cardstock with a coloured layer on top (in this case blue) but the crackle pattern is already on the paper, no stamping, no crumpling (for those of you who shrink at the thought of mashing your beautiful paper with your hands, tee hee)  This cardstock is great!

You can emboss it with whatever folder you have and scratch off the top layer with your sanding block, or you can leave the pattern and just rough up the edges a little…

It totally looks like the paper has been crumpled then sanded, but unlike crumpled paper, this lies flat on your card, so attaching it is super easy, with whatever glue you like!

And the best part is the stores locally are carrying the small “Card Makers” assortment pads in 6 x 6, and 4.25 x 5.5 as well as the 12 x 12 pads so you can try ALL the colours at a minimal cost!  If your local shop doesn’t have them in yet, just ask for it, they probably don’t know yet how COOL this paper is!

Here’s one of the cards I’ve created for my class at Scrapbook City in Surrey using this Kraft Core “”Shattered” cardstock…what do you think?

P.S. that GORGEOUS scallop border is Impression Obsession, and you get both the borders you see on the card in the same set!  The Style # is DIE019-V just in case you want to find it at your local store too!

Don’t forget to Scatter Joy!

New Year’s Challenge – Tutorial

By , 29 December, 2011, 2 Comments

Okay, so the last Dreamweaver challenge of the year is to create a project with a New Year’s theme. Now I don’t officially start on the Design Team for another 4 days, but I thought I would take part, and show you guys how I made the Cherished Chum’s Christmas Card this year.

Christmas! I thought you said this was a New Year’s Challenge?!

I know, I know, but aren’t I always telling you that you don’t need to use Seasonal products for your projects? Well, now I’m proving it! We “Ring in the New Year” right? So I’m using the Dreamweaver Vertical Bells Stencil for this challenge.

Glitter Gone Mat™ now Available!

By , 31 December, 2010, No Comment

I have just invented an easier way to clean glitter off your workspace!  After a lengthy Glitter class last month, I don’t need to tell you how much glitter didn’t make it back into the appropriate jars!  However, I used my Glitter Gone Mat™ to wipe the table, and the glitter stuck to it better than anything I’ve ever used before!  Then I rinsed the mat under the tap with regular water and left it to dry.  Good as New!  Cherish the Thought now has the exclusive Glitter Gone Mat™ in an assortment of Fun Colours!  Come in for a free demo!  (P.s. – it even gets glitter out of the carpet!)
