Cherished Chat ~ October 21st

By , 1 December, 2010, No Comment

Oh I’m SOOO excited to tell you about our very special visitor!!! We managed to convince Vicki Chrisman (the design team leader for Crafty Secrets) that Cherish the Thought is the place to be, and she is coming for a visit / demo night! Her blog is chock full of beautiful projects which you can find here http://vickichrisman.blogspot.com/ and if you think she’s just Vintage, don’t be fooled. She’s also on the design teams for Tattered Angels, Fancy pants and Scrapbook Adhesives so you don’t want to miss out on all the techniques she’ll want to share with you!

We’ll have a full selection of all Crafty Secrets products, as well as some refreshments, because after all, what’s an Open House with snacks right?!

Ella’s Antics
I was going to keep this antic special just for Chriss, but there’s more to the story now…

So Chriss, who used to work here, came by for a visit today, and Ella was spending the day with me at the shop.

When Chriss left, Ella ran to the door and yelled after her, “I Love you, Chriss”. Then she came to me and sadly asked why Chriss hadn’t said “I love you” back.

I explained that Chriss was already in her car and hadn’t heard Ella, so Ella ran back to the door and Yelled at the top of her lungs “I LOVE YOU!”.

Now Chriss, it’s not that I don’t want you to feel special but for the rest of the day, almost every customer that came in was accosted by Ella proclaiming her “Love” for them.

I’ve always said that some stores have cats roaming around, and we have a “baby” which is better, but there is surely no other store in town where you will feel so loved!

And with that
Stamp yourself Silly,
Adhere with Abandon,
And Ella and I REALLY love you, tee hee.

Hi Everybody,

Well, I’ve finally gotten to spend some time in the “New” store this week, and am getting to know where I put things over a month ago!  We may have unpacked the stock quickly enough, but our samples have been slow in coming out!  Anyway, I’ve really appreciated all your wonderful comments about how the store is coming along, and I can’t wait for you to see all that we are going to be doing in it in the future!  Keep posted for more details…

Welcome to a New Cherished Chick (let?)
I am VERY excited to welcome Alicia to our little Cherished Family.  Some of you already know her, as she’s TA’ed for me at the BC Crop for Kids for the past 2 years, and she is Awesome!  She started with us last Saturday and her enthusiasm for this craft is overwhelming.  She is only 14 but has been scrapbooking since she was 5 Years Old!  Alicia will be helping us out on Saturday’s and Sunday’s and I can’t wait for you all to meet this lovely young woman, she’s just itching to help you find just what you’re looking for.  Welcome to the Family, Alicia.

Ella’s Antics
Ella and I were in Surrey today, visiting with Crafty Secrets and as we were driving home, in the rain I might add, Ella said

“Mommy, we NEED Ice Cream”.

Now she’s been on an Ice Cream thing since we passed the Gelato place by my parent’s in Law’s house somewhere around Clarke drive, you know the one, in the Big Pink Building?  So I said to Ella,

“Honey, it’s really not the time for Ice Cream”

And she replied

“But Ice Cream is SO Yummylicious!”

She then went on a twenty minute rant about how we needed to get off the highway and FIND Ice Cream immediately.  Sigh, that kid can REALLY go on and on about something, it’s tough to get her to change the subject, she MUST get that trait from Andrew, tee hee!

And with that
Stamp yourself Silly,
Adhere with Abandon,
And I can’t wait to play with the new Basic Gray Dies, I hope you’ll join me this weekend!

Hi Everybody,

Most of you know that I was at the BC Crop for Kids this past weekend, and as usual it was a lot of Fun! The classes were all completely different offering something for everyone, but it was the Make-and-Takes that really inspired me! I made a necklace using a metal Washer and Glossy Accents and a Card with the Kee-utest pair of Owls using a new Stampin’ Up punch (which I HAD to order!) I watched the ladies make a multitude of cute tags, and LoveBug Scrapbooking did an adorable mini album that showcased this crazy adhesive melting gem attaching tool, and the prettiest shimmer paint you ever saw! I also got to play with a punch by Creative Memories that has 2 shapes in one, a scallop circle, and then flip the switch and you have an eyelet scallop circle! Gosh, you’d think I don’t get out much! And those were only the make-and-takes I actually saw! There were tons more when I was off teaching classes, it was amazing!

But really, the best part of the weekend was when Andrew, Ella and I got to go to Laity Pumpkin Patch on Sunday to celebrate our anniversary (Thank you to everyone who sent us your best wishes!). Pam and Mary, you were SO right, we had a great time, Ella loved it and I got some awesome pictures, to scrapbook using the kits I got from the Crop! Can’t wait to get home tonight to work on the “Fun with Fabrics” layouts, I was so envious watching Chriss, Lori and Erica enjoying the class, sigh, one day I’ll make sure I set aside the time to actually TAKE a class instead of just the Kit! And speaking of classes, a lot of our upcoming ones are either sold out or almost full, so be sure to call us if you were interested in any. I’ve marked the times that are close to filling up!

Ella’s Antics
I think everyone knows that I have a special relationship with Tim Horton’s.  He makes an Ice Cappuccino that I simply can’t stay away from!

Last week, Ella and I stopped in at Tim’s to grab my customary “Breakfast on the Go” and as Ella jumped out of the car, she stopped to grab 2 pennies from her stash of treasures in the car door handle.

When we made it up to the front of the line, I placed the order, an Ice Cap for me, a Chocolate Milk for her, and started to hand the Clerk my Debit card.  Ella cried “No Mommy!” and slapped her 2 pennies down on the counter, pushing them towards the Register.

“Oh, Honey” I said, “You keep your money, I’ll pay for this” and she stubbornly replied…

“No, mommy, MY Treat.”

And with that
Stamp yourself Silly,
Adhere with Abandon,
And every once in awhile, let someone treat you to your favorite obsession!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Cherished Chat ~ September 21st

Hi Everybody,

I’m Ba-ack!  And I have A LOT of things to tell you!  I’ll try not to go on and on about how awesome our cruise was, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect (in fact I heard we had it better in Alaska than you guys had it here!), and I won’t go on about how excellent the classes were, how Diana Crick (inventor of the Score-pal) gave away a whole pile of free stuff, how Celina and Gail packed more techniques into 2 hours than I ever would have thought possible, and I surely won’t tell you about the standing ovation I got after my second class.  I also won’t tell you about the fantastic deals we got in town on Jewelry, clothing and an Eskimo Doll for Ella.  And I definitely won’t tell you about Caryl and Shari’s Float plane trip, the whole gangs ride on the Skagway Train, the Aurora borealis, or the Glaciers, sigh, it just wouldn’t be fair, right? Tee hee, sorry but I just can’t help myself, it was an experience that I will never forget, and all the ladies that attended agree this is something that we should do again!  I’ll keep you posted on that development…
