Well we made it through the first snowfall of the year, and I was pleased to see that it didn’t stick around for long, whoo hoo! The snow allowed me to catch up a little on the sample cards for upcoming classes, so we now have the pictures posted on the Website under “Class Samples” and you can see the techniques we’ll be focusing on. Even without pics though, the classes are filling so if something strikes your fancy, be sure to reserve your spot soon!
Back In Stock
I’ve been working on each section of the store at a time, so other than Bazzil Cardstock (sigh) we’re pretty stocked up with product! I’ll be doing some orders shortly for the new stuff being shown at CHA this month too, so I’ll keep you posted on that!
Have you been checking out the Spellbinders Blog Party? Well log on to their blog and take a look-see, every day they are posting sneak peeks of the dies they will be releasing at CHA and I have to say they are awesome so far!
50% off Dated Calendars
If you haven’t got your 2011 Calendar yet, all our calendars are now 50% off. We have 8 x 8 as well as 12 x 12 so you can add your favorite layouts of last year to them and admire your work each month! If you need some inspiration, I will also be releasing monthly Sketches to get your creative juices going should you want to create each month as you go. Now you can have a Scrapped Calendar all to yourself!
Did you know that we have 3 spots underground to park in as well as all the spots on the street in front of the store?
If you turn onto Buller (The street between our Complex and the PetroCanada) and turn Right into the Complex, then Right again into the Underground parking, we are the first 2 spots on your left, and 1 on the right, both are beside the Handicap parking spots. There is a door that comes up to the courtyard so you don’t need to walk around the building, but be sure you use the door marked “To Retail” as the door that leads to the Condo’s is always locked.
So if all the spots are taken on the street, don’t despair, our spots underground are usually empty.
Neat ‘Nique ~ Saturday January 8th Drop in between 3pm and 4:30pm for a FREE Demo
This is the change that took the most thought. I’m afraid that we will no longer be able to offer a $2 Make-and-Take, but I love our Saturday Afternoons together, so we’ve turned the Neat ‘Nique into a Demo only.
The good thing about this is that you won’t be waiting around for your turn as the demo will be going on straight through the afternoon. Also, I’ll be able to show you far more intricate techniques, and will be able to answer any questions about the various products and techniques as we go.
I’m very excited about doing this demo with you, as I’m bursting at the seams to share all the neat stuff you can do with my products! So come in and let’s play…
These are short demo’s set up throughout the week to give you an opportunity to see what you can do with the various products. This week we’ll focus on Stencils & Embossing Paste
Tuesday ~ Colouring in your stencils
Wednesday ~ Basic Pasting with your Stencils
Thursday ~ Creating Texture with your Paste
Friday ~ Adding Colour to your Pasted images
You don’t need to bring anything with you, and you can drop in at any time throughout the day, but please understand that I may need to interrupt the demo to help other customers as needed.
Cherished Carders Club
I’ve often been asked about hosting a monthly get-together for card-makers, but I needed someone to help organize it for me, so when Sharon came in with an idea for a card club that she would like to do, I immediately said yes!
So, Every 2nd Thursday of the month, from 10am to 12pm, Cherish will host a get together for card makers to come a create a card designed by a member of the club. The cost is $2 and you must bring your basic supplies with you. There is no need to commit to coming every month, so don’t panic, but sending us an RSVP so we know how many kits to prepare would be appreciated. If you are interested in joining our group, please let me know and I’ll pass on your information to Sharon.
Sharon has left me a sample of next months card so you can have an idea of what you might be making. Hope to see you there! (Or I guess here, tee hee)
Ella is at the “Why?” stage. And Andrew and I have decided that if she asks in a full sentence we will explain in detail, whatever question she wants answered. But there are downfalls to this. For Instance…
Jessie (to Andrew) “We need more Heads for the track lighting in here.”
Ella (to me) “Why do we need more heads for the track lighting?”
Jessie (to Ella) “Because we don’t have enough light in a lot of areas of the store.”
Ella (to me) “Why don’t we have enough light in areas in the store?”
Jessie (to Ella) “Uhh, because we don’t have enough heads for the track lighting?”
I can see this conversation turning into that song that never ends!
And with that
Stamp yourself Silly,
Adhere with Abandon,
And don’t forget to check out our classes pictures online, though they look much better in person. On second thought, come in and see them in person, I’ve missed you!
